Il signor Maier è un redattore tecnico esperto in un'azienda meccanica di medie dimensioni. Nel corso degli anni l'azienda e anche i relativi prodotti sono stati ulteriormente sviluppati: le precedenti "soluzioni standard" non esistono più. Sono richieste soluzioni più complesse e nelle diverse varianti. La nuova politica aziendale si basa sul "flessibile ma veloce". A poco a poco il signor Maier aggiorna e crea nuovi manuali con l'aiuto del Copy & Paste.

Se si vuole avere una terminologia consistente, il lavoro terminologico deve essere coerente e deve avere un concetto. Il lavoro a progetto “ad hoc” non porta all'obiettivo nel lungo termine, mentre un lavoro sistematico sulla terminologia specifica del prodotto porta al risultato. Un concetto chiaro e una procedura stabilita con precisione aiutano a definire la terminologia aziendale. Un sistema concettuale di termini invece aiuta a definire le relazioni tra i singoli termini.

If you want to have consistent terminology, terminology work must be done in a right way and you must have a concept. Ad-hoc project work does not lead to long term quality. A step-by-step product-specific terminology work however leads to the goal. A concept and a precisely defined procedure help you to define the company terminology. A concept system of terms helps to define the relationships between the individual terms.

Möchte man eine konsistente Terminologie haben, muss die Terminologiearbeit konsequent sein und ein Konzept haben. Projektarbeit ad-hoc führt langfristig nicht zum Ziel. Eine schrittweise produktspezifische Terminologiearbeit führt langfristig zum Ziel. Ein Konzept und eine genau definierte Vorgehensweise hilft bei der Definition der Firmenterminologie. Ein Begriffssystem hilft dabei, die Beziehungen zwischen den einzelnen Terms zu definieren.
